How to use Stripe if you are a travel agency in Morocco

The tourism market is becoming increasingly global, and offers us multiple possibilities to move towards greater optimization of the work of travel agencies. One of the main aspects that offer ample room for improvement is the area of customer-agency payments.

Through its app, MOGU offers solutions to agencies to solve the various difficulties that may arise when integrating payments in this process of optimization and digitization, as MOGU aims to lead the fintravel vertical as an integrated payment system in the tourism sector. The fintravel proposed by MOGU includes facilities such as payments from the proposals with a click, payment management for group travel or charging customers at the destination from the app, among others.

To do this, MOGU uses one of the most prestigious international payment gateways that offers the best solutions: Stripe, which offers products that enable payments for online and in-person retailers, companies that work with subscriptions, software platforms, marketplaces and much more.

Stripe is deployed in 47 countries(here you can see exactly in which ones), which gives it a powerful scope of action. However, it is not yet enabled for use in Morocco, one of Spain's main trading partners and a key element in the tourism sector.

Any travel agency registered with MOGU that wants to use the payment links must fill out a form to verify your account(here we explain step by step how to do it), where you are asked, among other data, to enter an IBAN. This bank details must correspond to an account in one of the countries where Stripe operates. If you are a Moroccan travel agency, including the IBAN of your local bank will not allow you to continue, so you must follow these steps to solve it and enter a valid bank details:

We are going to create a multicurrency account in Wise, a globally known platform for transfers in different currencies that offers a very interesting functionality: when you create the account and operate from a virtual card, Wise will auto-generate an IBAN for the country you are interested in, and that is precisely the data we will enter in Stripe to allow us to finish the registration

Wise will give you the option to create a personal or a business account: we will have to choose the personal account and proceed with the verification process. We will be asked for a photo of our ID on the front and back and an identity photo. With that, we will already have our account created with our corresponding IBAN to indicate it in Stripe and complete the account verification form.

This way you can start working with MOGU from day one from Morocco, thus expanding the service you offer to your customers.
