Associations not only contribute to improving the credibility of your travel agency, but also expose you to a great deal of relevant information in the sector, from trends, agreements, strategies, etc. In addition, the community of researchers that compose it is also an ideal channel to close collaboration agreements. In this publication we will share a list of all the associations at a global level so that you can select the one that best fits your profile.

A

ABTA, Association of British Travel Agents:
The association was established over 70 years ago and is the UK's leading travel association. Its team of 80 people primarily advises its members on the promotion of responsible tourism in the UK and abroad.

ADN Tourisme:

The federation was born in 2020 from the merger of the three historical federations of French tourism institutional stakeholders: Offices de Tourisme de France, Tourisme & Territoires and Destination Régions. By associating representatives of the three territorial levels of metropolitan France and overseas territories, it represents at the national level the combined forces of nearly 1,100 structures and 11,500 employees.

ATES, Association pour le Tourisme Equitable et Solidaire:
It is a professional network of actors and specialists of fair and solidarity tourism, created in 2006. It brings together more than 30 travel producers, tour operators in France and associate members, all committed to making tourism a lever for development and solidarity with local populations and actors.

APST, Association Professionnelle de Solidarité du Tourisme:
Created in 1964, the association was created by tourism professionals and brings together individuals or legal entities related to the tourism sector, travel agents and other operators selling travel and vacations.

ATEC, Australian Tourism Export Council:
Since 1972, it has represented the international travel trade with the aim of facilitating the growth of inbound tourism businesses in Australia. Its mission is to bring together buyers and sellers in the travel industry through events.

ATTA, Adventure Travel Trade Association:

Founded in 1990, the association is the world's largest network of adventure tourism leaders, with more than 100 members. The connections and creativity of this community come together both virtually and in person, their solution propels your business into a responsible and profitable future. Membership fee: $99 USD per year.

BRAND USA
:
Founded in 2011, promotes the United States as a premier travel destination, with more than 900 partner organizations that invite the world to explore the destinations and experiences available in the United States of America.

CTA, Coach Tourism Association:

This association was created 30 years ago to bring together the motorcoach tourism industry and promote motorcoach travel and tourism. It has over 300 members in the coach tourism field and maintains relationships between organizations, mainly in the United Kingdom. Fares range from £75 to £550, depending on the category.

CATO, Council of Australian Tour Operators:

CLIA, Cruise Lines International Association:

KATO, Kenya Association of Tour Operators:

LATA, Latin America Tourism Association:

La asociación, en constante crecimiento, está formada por más de 360 empresas, entre ellas oficinas de turismo, compañías aéreas, hoteles, operadores turísticos... Se compromete a promover y estimular el crecimiento de la industria del turismo en América Latina desde el Reino Unido. La cuota de afiliación oscila entre 335 y 680 libras.

MATI, Maldives Association of Tourism Industry:
Desde 1982, la asociación tiene como objetivo promover y desarrollar el turismo en las Maldivas, coordina todos los órganos de decisión gubernamentales obligatorios para alinear las nuevas leyes y reglamentos con las mejores prácticas del turismo en las Maldivas.

MGTA, Malaysia Golf Tourism Association:

Founded in 1951, the association acts as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together its members to facilitate partnerships to enhance the value, quality and sustainable growth of travel and tourism.

PURE

This association promotes experiential tourism. It is a large community that reflects an attitude, commitments and belief that travel can be more than just an industry.

RTNZ, Regional Tourism New Zealand:

This is the first association of regional tourism organizations in New Zealand and aims to foster better coordination and ensure that communities are engaged and consulted on issues critical to the development of the tourism sector in New Zealand.

Safarilink
:
Founded in 1998, lists and defines campsites, lodges and safari operators. Provides more than 5,500 travel agents and tour operators with detailed and verified information on more than 1,250 accommodations.

SATSA:

Founded in 1969, it represents the private tourism sector in Southern Africa. Its aim is to create a dynamic grouping of quality tourism providers in the region, and to provide advice and information on membership.

Signature Travel Network:

Founded by a group of agency owners in 1956, it continues to attract the most successful in the travel industry.

SYTA, Student and Youth Travel Association:

The first business association dedicated to providing meaningful travel experiences for students and young people. They instill confidence in their travelers by setting quality and safety standards for travel providers, and empower their members through advocacy, education, training and networking opportunities.

TWLGO, The World's Leading Ground Operators:

It is an association of independent inbound operators specializing in shore-based programs for the world's leading cruise lines. Members are elected by invitation only and with the unanimous consent of existing members.

TIES, The International Ecotourism Society:

Founded in 1990, it is dedicated to the promotion of ecotourism. It has been at the forefront of ecotourism development, providing guidelines and standards, training, technical assistance and educational resources. It leads efforts to make tourism a viable tool for conservation, protection of biocultural diversity and sustainable community development.


TAP, Travelers Against Plastic:

This is an awareness initiative that aims to educate travelers around the world about the harmful effects of using disposable plastic water bottles and, consequently, encourage travelers to be prepared to clean their own drinking water. Its vision is to catalyze a global self-sufficiency movement, which will result in the virtual elimination of travelers' dependence on disposable plastic water bottles.

Ukinbound:

Founded in 1977, it is the only trade association that represents the interests of the UK inbound tourism sector and ensures its recognition as a key driver of the UK economy and employment.

USTOA, United States Tour Operators Association:
Founded in 1972 by a small group of California tour operators concerned about tour operator bankruptcies. These founding members recognized the need for a unified voice to protect the traveling public and represent the interests of tour operators.

Virtuoso:

It is the world's leading network of agencies specializing in luxury travel and experiences, with more than 20,000 advisors. They work in partnership with more than 1,800 of the world's leading companies, including hotels, cruise lines, tour operators and others. Their advisors use their personal relationships and first-hand experience to create customized trips for clients.

WINTA, World Indigenous Tourism Alliance:

The organization was formed in 2012 out of the global and collective aspirations of indigenous interests in tourism and is an indigenous initiative based on key indigenous human rights, including the rights to self-determination, self-governance and the right to maintain and develop their own rights, institutions and to maintain and develop cross-border contacts essential to the maintenance of their communities and cultures.

WFTA, World Food Travel Association:

It was founded in 2003 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO), and is now considered the world's leading authority on gastronomic tourism. Each year, the Association serves a community of nearly 200,000 people from 150 countries.
